Oil Filled Radiator

This winter, stay cozy at work or home with an oil filled radiator. No matter where you life or what you do, it is always nice to feel warm and snug. However, some homes and offices are drafty or too expensive to heat through the installed ductwork.

That is when a small portable heater that will give off just the amount of heat that you need just where you need it is a great solution. People often put these small heaters underneath their desks, in ice fishing cabins, or in a spare bedroom if a guest is coming over.

Anywhere you need a small area of heat, a portable radiator can do the job.

Radiators are work by heating a liquid inside of them and then letting that heat escape into the room by means of convection. Most old homes still have large metal radiators on the walls, but newer construction prefers baseboard radiators.

Either one of these systems uses the water from your pipes to transfer heat throughout your house. This is good for large systems as water is cheap and circulates freely. However, for small portable units, oil is a better choice. While it takes longer to heat up, it stays hot longer and uses less electricity in the long run.

Most types of these radiators weigh between five and twenty pounds, depending on their size. They may come on small windows or have a convenient carrying handle. This makes them easier to move from room to room as necessary.

All you have to do is plug them in and they will start working. You can often set the amount of electricity that they will use to both control the amount of heat that they put out as well as control the amount of electricity that they use to work.

For instance, you might find that a fifteen hundred watt radiator runs at five hundred, one thousand, and fifteen hundred watts, depending on your heating needs.

When used wisely, an oil filled radiator will not only keep you warm this winter, but it can help you save on your overall heating bill by allowing you to keep the temperature in your house a few degrees lower overall and then just bring the heat you need with you.

It is perfect at night, as you can turn the heat way down and keep your bedroom as warm you want it to be.
